Just got this news flash from my friends at Treehouse Point and had to
share...Treehouse Point is the most beautiful spot on the river for a retreat, wedding, etc. My friend Jen Grant and I are thinking about having a women's empowerment weekend here. The the 1st edition of the book is AMAZING and INSPIRING! I gave it to tons of family members for Christmas this year...Definitely check it out!

What I am doing this holiday season to make a smaller footprint?

I've always been a garage sale/thrift store junky. I LOVE the feeling of reusing and recreating. This year I also promised my kids that we would go a little crazy with lights outside and in...So, I've been to every goodwill, consignment store, thrift store within a 40 mile radius and collected all of the lights I could find. The thing is...they all work AND were so cheap. I've collected lots of other cool stuff too and have been busy recreating. I'll share some cool pics of ReCaptivation creations soon (hopefully launching our website too). In the meantime... I did it! I made my holiday card with Smilebox. Hardest part was picking out the pictures...too many cute ones. I didn't have any trouble with the song...Jack Johnson's version of "Someday at Christmas" is my favorite holiday tune and I can't stop humming it constantly. So...my gift to you...now it'll be in your head too!

emagineGreen and my nasty composter...

Thank goodness for the weekend visit from my good friend Jen Grant, of the Cr8tv network (great place to hang out btw). She was in the door for less than 10 minutes when she spotted the 5 gallon bucket that is the food collection for our outside composter and nearly spit her wine out on my kitchen floor. Check out what happened next... She also talked me into being a green coach. Wasn't that hard, with the cool styling green stuff I get to support my habit of working to create a smaller footprint. I'll let you all know when I improve the composter situation! :) Check out emagineGreen (and tell them I sent you, lol). On a side note...we had such a great weekend. Went by way too fast. Get ready for what Jen and I have planned!
